Around the World in 180 Days 3rd Edition
Around the World in 180 Days 3rd edition is designed for teaching geography and world cultures to all of your children at the same time. It covers each continents history, geography, and culture and yet this is most definitely NOT a textbook. The course is somewhat like a unit study being a series of guiding questions that the student must research in order to answer.
Each unit begins with geography questions and terms to research, and continues to map work; outlining the continent, drawing major physical features (rivers, mountains, deserts, lakes, etc.), and marking countries and cities. In addition to answering questions about history, religion, culture and current events, students are also given writing and speaking assignments. Plenty of resources (available in most public libraries) are suggested to help students conduct their research, and the teachers edition provides example answers and teaching suggestions for multiple ages and stages of your children.
Written with a multilevel approach, with questions for students of all grade levels, this is truly a curriculum your whole family can study together!
It is a full year programme but you may take longer or shorter depending on your family and how many interesting rabbit holes you decide to go down along the way.
We recommend you have a student workbook for each student you are working with.
Please note that the student book comes 3-hole punched, unbound and shrink wrapped. We have folders for purchase separately (as pictured).
